Ms. Rowan is a Senior Professional Wetland Scientist, certified by the Society of Wetland Scientists Professional Certification Program. Her technical practice is in wetland science, water resources and functional assessment of habitats for fish and wildlife, remote sensing, restoration of the ecological function of wetlands, rivers, lakes and coastal habitats, US Army Corps of Engineers and state permitting and coastal zone compliance, including jurisdictional aspects, development of scientific reports associated with the coastal zone geomorphology and plant communities, presence or absence of protected species and their habitats, evaluation of critical habitat for Atlantic Sturgeon, NEPA and Clean Water Act compliance. Ms. Rowan provides a high level of knowledge in science, regulatory policy and management to inform successful strategies that avoid impacts for planning and design of large-scale projects and programs tied to public infrastructure, including renewable and traditional power generation and transmission projects, state and national parks, coastal and inland ecosystem restoration, green building and site design, and low impact methods of site development and environmental restoration. Ms. Rowan develops designs for ecosystem restoration and is a subject matter expert in Nature-based Solutions at Mott MacDonald.
