ABSTRACT:

Dr Hess and Dr Traver will present key elements of the upcoming Pennsylvania Stormwater Manual, highlighting advances that have been incorporated since the current version was published in 2006.


SPEAKER BIOS: 



Dr. Amanda Jean Hess, PE, is an Assistant Research Professor at Villanova University in the Villanova Center for Resilient Water Systems where she works on the rewrite of the PA DEP Stormwater Manual and monitoring and research efforts of PennDOT’s I-95 reconstruction project. Amanda’s industry experience focuses on stormwater infrastructure in Philadelphia and implementation of smart stormwater controls in across the United States. Amanda received her Master’s and PhD from Villanova University in 2014 and 2017, respectively, where she focused on quantifying evapotranspiration from rain garden plants.



Dr. Robert Traver, PE is a Professor in the Villanova Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and the former Director of the Villanova Center for Resilient Water Systems. His over thirty years of research on green stormwater infrastructure is aimed to improve our engineering practices. He was a committee member of the NRC Committee that authored “Urban Stormwater Management in the United States” (2009) and is an associate editor of the ASCE Journal Sustainable Water in the Build Environment which he helped to create.

This seminar qualifies for 1.0 Professional Development Hour (PDH). A Certificate of Attendance will be available for AWRA-PMAS members only. The meeting price for non-members who wish to receive a Certificate of Attendance for the PDH is $10.00 ($3.00 for meeting + $7.00 for certificate).

  • Presentation Zoom link will be provided in registration reminder email.
  • Registration is limited to the first 100 people.
  • Zoom link should only be used by those who register for the event through AWRA directly. 
  • Please allow extra time to register through Zoom and get software set up.
  • Presentation will start at noon.
  • Early participants will be in a Waiting Room until noon.
  • PDHs will be issued through PDFs after the event. Participants must email AWRA.PMAS@gmail.com to request PDH Certificate after the event.
